DANB GC Review Part I
Course Overview
The dental practice centers on the patient, and as a chairside assistant, you’ll work alongside the dentist to provide value before, during and after the patient exam. Working chairside involves everything from collecting preliminary patient data and providing patient education, to applying four-handed dental assisting techniques and maintaining the field of operation. You help the dentist and the patient when you know the proper instruments and dental materials in preparing the armamentarium and how to correctly set up trays for procedures.
The DANB GC Review Part I covers all of these important topics and more, as it walks you through patient scenarios related to general chairside assisting. This course covers the procedures involved in performing preliminary examinations, as well as charting and treatment documentation. You’ll also learn how to select the proper materials and instruments for various procedures, as well as techniques that aid in maintaining the field of operation, and more. Understanding these topics is an important foundation for performing a variety of dental procedures and will help you prepare for the DANB General Chairside Assisting (GC) exam.
Questions in the review course are not from actual DANB exams, and completing the review course does not guarantee you will pass the DANB GC exam.
